Getting to know your dishwasher

Our Dishwashers can offer a huge number of different settings and functions to help you get the best results. Like all our kitchen appliances, it works around your creative needs: with the Flex 3 Basket and the Flex 3 Drawer – with Touchpoints & Easy glide rails and Rack Matic, you can find space for everything from large plates to the smallest espresso cup. Even delicate glasses come out crystal clear. But when will it all be finished? Our Time Light won’t leave you in the dark: it simply projects remaining time onto the floor. However, all of our settings and symbols can be hard to get used to when you get a new NEFF appliance. Below we have detailed all settings and explanations, so you can be sure how to make the most out of your appliance with NEFF.

Basic Dishwasher Symbols

Items placed in the lower basket are subject to higher spray pressures, eliminating the need for soaking and effectively removing even the most stubborn stains.

Hygiene Plus

Hygiene Plus

Provides a hotter final rinse, with 70°C water for 10 minutes, to eff ectively cleanse items such as chopping boards and cooking utensils*.

Favourite Button

Favourite Button

You can save a combination of a program and an additional function to the button. You can save the program via the Home Connect app or on the appliance. The pre-rinse program is saved to this button at the factory. Pre-rinse is suitable for all types of tableware. The tableware undergoes intermediate cleaning via cold rinsing.
Tip: You can use the Home Connect app to download additional programs and save them to the button (depending on the appliance specifications).

Trouble Dishwasher Symbols
Water supply

Water supply

Even the best dishwasher will not deliver clean dishes if there is a lack of water. If the dishwasher symbol lights up with the tap, that is exactly the problem: the machine receives no or only too little water. If the symbol with the tap lights up, you should first check the hoses and water connections. A kinked hose or a blocked faucet are problems that you can quickly and easily fix yourself. If necessary, a look at the instructions for the dishwasher can also help. If that doesn't help you either, it makes sense to consult a specialist.

Rinse Aid

Rinse Aid

The sun with the dotted rays is the dishwasher symbol for a lack of rinse aid. Rinse aid allows the dishes to dry better after the wash cycle and prevents limescale deposits. Once filled, the dishwasher doses the right amount for each wash cycle. Multi-Tabs also contain rinse aid, but like salt, it may be necessary to add additional rinse aid depending on the hardness of the water.

HYGIENE TIPS

All our dishwashers have a very high germ reduction effect and meet the highest standards of perfect hygiene when cleaning household dishes. This is all thanks to our programs and options:

Hygiene tips

Our dishwashers currently in our range achieve up to 99.999% reduction in germs1 – and this applies to all NEFF dishwashers in the Eco 45°C program.

1The germ reduction of up to 99.999% refers to tests with the test germ “E. faecium”.

Hygiene tips

All our dishwashers are equipped with an intensive Chef 70°C program that reaches a temperature of 70°C during the program cycle for several minutes, thus also achieving a germ reduction of up to 99.999%1. Dishwashing detergents have a cleaning function, but also attack virus surfaces and can thus inactivate viruses. This is particularly true when cleaning and drying in a dishwasher at a high temperature of 60°C or higher2.

Hygiene tips

Some selected appliances are also equipped with Extra Hygiene option achieving high temperatures of ≥70°C in the selected program, which are maintained for at least ten minutes. This option can be added to most programs to meet the highest hygienic needs in the household3.

3This option even achieves an additional disinfection performance via the effect of heat according to a defined temperature-time integral in accordance with the EN 15883-1 standard, Annex B, for washer-disinfectors.

Hygiene tips

It is essential to ensure that the dishwasher interior is always in proper condition as well as the filter system. Therefore, we recommend regularly carrying out the Machine Care program available in all our current appliances4.

4The tap water used should be of drinking water quality.
